The Minnesota Space Grant Consortium and Tripoli MN, a local high-power rocketry club, have just announced rules for the 2021-2022 Space Grant Midwest High-Power Rocketry Competition.
This intercollegiate competition, entitled the “Return to Flight: Fleet Challenge,” should appeal to teams of both new and experienced high-power rocketry students, allowing them to demonstrate their design/build/fly “chops” by building multiple (relatively low-cost) rockets which differ from one another in as many ways possible.
Team presentations, followed by a full day of competition launches, will take place (weather permitting) at the Tripoli MN high-power rocket launch site outside North Branch, Minnesota, on May 21-22, 2022. Spectators are welcome to attend all events. Use the “Contact Us” link to request more details.
An informational telecon about competition will be held on September 20, 2021, (and will be repeated at 7 p.m. CST on Thursday, January 13, 2022, for teams not starting until after the New Year). Contact James Flaten, firstname.lastname@example.org, Minnesota Space Grant, for call-in information.
