University of Minnesota Duluth is an affiliate of NASA’s Minnesota Space Grant Consortium, via the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Programming is available University-wide, but most activities involve students and faculty in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering (SCSE).
Space Grant Activity Areas

- Provide scholarship support to UMD students majoring in areas of interest to NASA (e.g. all SCSE majors)

- Cosmic Ray and Neutrino Physics with the MINOS, NOvA, Minerva, and DUNE experiments
- Stichable Sensors for better Spacesuit Design

- UMD Planetarium and Geodome programming
- Particle physics talks to schools and community groups, and tours of the NOvA lab at Ash River Falls
